We were simply looking for a place to enjoy a sangria and ended up at Sports Club, choosing a table outside overlooking the bustling street. The bar has several large screens showing live sporting events, making it a favourite with sports fans, and every Thursday at 8pm it hosts lively salsa and bachata classes.

We sat back with our drinks, watched the constant flow of people strolling past, and watched the sunset at the end of the street.

While Albufeira's well-known Strip is often associated with late-night partying, Alvor offers something a little different. It has plenty of lively bars and entertainment, but it's also filled with welcoming restaurants where families, couples and groups of friends can all enjoy an evening out together.
