More than 70 tonnes of obsolete equipment has been removed from the six hospitals of the Central Lisbon University Hospital Centre (CHULC).

The decommissioned equipment is now concen-trated in a single area in São José in a bid to reclaim much needed physical space in the hospitals.
In a statement the CHULC explained that the equipment has been moved because it was damaged or had been decommissioned due to age but is potentially reusable. This equipment is now part of a project that first begun in August 2019 to allow the recycling of the equipment and recovery of space in the hospitals.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create an equipment park to allow for better asset management, to allow for a direct reflection in operating conditions and the support for the decision to purchase new equipment.
