'A Herdade' Portugal's candidate for Oscars

Portuguese feature film " A Herdade" (The estate), directed by Tiago Guedes, is the country’s candidate for an Oscar nomination for best foreign film in 2020, the Portuguese Film Academy (APC) said.

According to a statement from the Academy, the film was chosen by its members to represent Portugal in the category of Best International Film at the Oscars of the American Film Academy for next year.

The film had its world premiere in the official competition of the 76th Venice Film Festival, which ended on Saturday, where director Tiago Guedes won the Bisato d'Oro Award from the independent critic for Best Direction.

"A Herdade", produced by Paulo Branco, is now at the Toronto TIFF Festival, marking the first time that a Portuguese film is selected for the Special Presentations section of the festival.

The premiere in Portugal is scheduled for 19 September.

I’m trying to watch this movie, they are not even playing it!

Don't you think that a journalist's job is in this case to at least describe in three lines the content of the film? You just need to copy paste from IMDB.com if you are not interested at all. Shame.
