"Parties are prohibited in accommodation around the world for all future bookings, and no more than 16 people can be accommodated in any accommodation at the same time," Airbnb said in a statement.

These measures have the objective of promoting public health and responsible travel, supporting health measures of social distance, in the context of the covid-19 pandemic.

The ban will remain in force indefinitely, as clarified in the statement.

The measure that stipulates a maximum occupancy of 16 people applies mainly to large spaces that have been advertised so far with a capacity for more than that number of people.

However, “Airbnb is currently studying the possibility of generating an exception process for specialized and traditional hotel establishments (such as boutique hotels)”.
