Algarve hoteliers want twice as many emergency stations and more litres of fuel per car

The head of the Algarve’s largest hotel and resort association has said Algarve hoteliers wants twice as many emergency fuel stations operating during the truckers’ strike.

Elidérico Viegas president of AHETA, emphasised that "the Algarve cannot be compared to an urban area like Lisbon or Porto" stressing the “many tourists in the region at this time of the year”.

He argued that the current 22 emergency fuel stations in the region is insufficient and called on the government to increase the number of liters of fuel per car.
