Every day counts in the Algarve and, as such, the 365 Algarve programme includes music, cinema, theatre and dance, gastronomy, literature and heritage, to showcase all that the region has to offer out of the main peak tourist season.

This month’s 365 Algarve programme has a very different array of suggestions, from a jazz concert in Wineries, walks through the Algarve heritage and a show by Novo Circus, in Aljezur. It also has the ninth edition of the Summer Blue Festival which includes exhibitions, concerts, theatre, dance and visual arts exhibitions, as well as the V International Poetry Meeting Poetry of the South.

Alongside this wide programme, the Algarve will also be welcoming comedy performances with the debut stand-up comedy tour of blogger “A Pipoca Mais Doce, Agora Deu-me Para Isto”, on 4 October at Teatro das Figuras. On the 16 October, José Pedro Gomes and Ana Bola are together in the show Casal da Treta, for a night at the Duval Pestana Auditorium Cultural Centre.

Throughout the month, various exhibitions of painting, photography and even works by art students will be available (until the 28). One of the highlighted exhibitions is The Other Algarve by Olhanense photographer, Hélio Ramos, at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery in Albufeira.

Nature and bird watching enthusiasts are suggested to go to the 10th Bird watching & Nature Activities Festival, in Vila do Bispo, from 10 to 13 October .

When it comes to music, the concert of renowned Portuguese flutist Rão Kyao and Guests, on 12 October, at the Cineteatro Louletano, marks the musical programme. However, there is no shortage of good music throughout the month, from solo concerts, classical music, Fado, jazz and traditional music all over the Algarve.

For mid-October, South American dance invades the cities of Loulé, Lagoa and Lagos on 13, 18 and 19 with the show Sentimientos Argentinos. While dance enchants the Algarvian stages, at the end of the month, the Portugal Masters arrives in Vilamoura from 24 to 27 October, a tournament featuring the best golfers in Europe, at the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course.

For those looking for something more tranquil, the 10th edition of Algarve Spa Week, with the theme “Be Active & Be Well”, invites everyone to experience the best spas in the Algarve, from 5 to 13 October.
