”Volkswagen, which had already suspended production, first until 29 March and then until 5 April, informed us today that it will extend the suspension of production at the Palmela plant for another week, until 12 April” , said Fausto Dionísio.
“We have requested that these stopping days, like the previous ones, also be paid as ‘downdays’ (non-production days without loss of wages), since we are still within the annual limit of 22 downdays”, added Fausto Dionísio.
According to the coordinator of the Autoeuropa Workers’ Commission, Volkswagen factories in Germany and other countries will also extend production stops until at least 12 April.
