Azores without any new cases in the past 24 hours

After the biggest increase in cases since the beginning of the outbreak in the region on Saturday, with 22 new cases, the Azores has not registered any cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours .

The Regional Health Authority said that “the 391 analyzes carried out in the two reference laboratories in the Azores in the last 24 hours did not reveal positive cases of COVID-19”.

Even so, "the measures to prevent and contain the pandemic must be maintained and reinforced, whenever possible, by citizens and public, private and sector organizations", warns the authority, in a statement.

The Azores have a total of 128 cases, with 15 recovered, six deaths and 107 positive cases active due to infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19 disease, 80 in São Miguel, five in Terceira , five in Graciosa, three in São Jorge, nine in Pico and five in Faial.

There are still no cases recorded on the islands of Flores, Corvo and Santa Maria.

Saturday was the day that saw the greatest increase in the number of people infected by the new coronavirus, with 21 new cases in São Miguel and one in Terceira.
