Dozens of people who lost savings and investments as a result of the resolution of Portuguese bank Banif gathered in Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio Friday, in what was the first national protest to protect their interests following the bank’s bankruptcy.

The protest began at around 11.30 am and saw protestors walk to the Bank of Portugal headquarters and on to the Santander bank headquarters.

Some of the protestors were wearing red clown noses and called on the Portuguese Prime Minister to resign.
