ccording to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry, António Domingues will vacate the post at the end of the year, though it remains unclear whether the remainder of his board will be following him out the door.

The news comes as Caixa Geral has been in the headlines the past month over the refusal of the bank’s leadership to publicly declare their earnings as demanded by the Constitutional Court.

The bank is also preparing for a crucial recapitalisation process.
