Cloud and showers for run-up to Christmas

Nights are set to get chillier as temperatures are forecast to dip a degree or two, and overall the run-up to Christmas is looking dreary and damp, with a mix of cloud, showers, and some sunny spells in-between.

Lisbon: Saturday will be dry but overcast in the capital, while Sunday will be showery. The coming week will start off with some high cloud cover, followed by scattered showers on Tuesday, but the rest of the week will be drier and brighter, seeing highs of 15 degrees Celsius and lows of 8.

South: Southern Portugal is looking drier, sunnier and warmer than the rest of Portugal. Some light rain might fall on Sunday, and again Tuesday, but otherwise it should be bright, with thermometers reading highs of 17 degrees and overnight lows of 7.

North: Northern Portugal will bear the brunt of the wet weather, with rain forecast for most of the weekend and coming week. It will also be overcast for the foresee-able future, although the temper-atures will not be too far off the rest of the country, with highs peaking at 15 degrees, and lows of 9.
