Coimbra to reinstall video surveillance cameras

Twenty video surveillance cameras should be reinstalled by the end of the year in the city of Coimbra, after the positive confirmation from the Secretary of State for Internal Administration.

Manuel Machado, mayor of the council, said that “the coordination, data collection and activation of the devices must be carried out, including data reservation and access, exclusively by the district commander of the PSP of Coimbra”.

According to the mayor, the council of Coimbra has been “working for years with the PSP, which has been doing a remarkable job in this area, for the reinstallation of video surveillance systems in the appropriate places in view of the needs of the city”.

“Our job is to cooperate with security forces to reassure people, but with the guarantee that there will be no let up in existing security services,” stressed Manuel Machado.

Yes, these French speaking immigrants are fleeing their native countries, like France and Belgium. They are easily recognizable though, because they only speak and write in French.

Avec les immigrés prévus ce sont des centaines de caméras qu'il faudra installer pour la sécurité des portugais...Réfléchissez y avant que cela ne soit trop tard!

In Coimbra? I've never felt as safe and secure as I did in this lovely place. Why the need for cameras?
