According to the bulletin released today, Portugal has recorded 121,133 confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus and 2,343 deaths in total since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of the 27 deaths, 13 occurred in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, eight in the North, five in the Centre and one in the Alentejo.

Regarding hospitalisations, the number of people hospitalised continues to rise for more than a week, with 1,672 people now, 98 more than on Sunday, and of these 240 (plus ten) are in Intensive Care Units.

In the last 24 hours, 1,079 cases were recorded as recovered, totalling 69,956 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The North region continues to record the highest number of new daily infections, today with more than 1,633 cases, totalling 51,932, and 1,030 deaths, of which eight in the last 24 hours, since the beginning of the pandemic in March.

In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, a further 580 new cases of infection were reported, accounting for 53,412 cases and 940 deaths in the region, 13 of which were in the last 24 hours.

In Alentejo, 24 new cases of infection were registered, totalling 2,436 with a total of 37 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Algarve region has today reported 27 more cases of infection, totalling 2,496 cases and 25 deaths.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, five more cases were registered in the last 24 hours, adding up to 345 infections detected and 15 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Madeira has registered 11 new cases in the last 24 hours, accounting for 394 infections, with no record of deaths by covid-19 until today.

Confirmed cases are distributed across all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years of age.

In total, the new coronavirus has already affected at least 55,181 men and 65,952 women in Portugal, according to the declared cases.

Of the total fatalities, 1,197 were men and 1,146 women.

The largest number of deaths continues to be concentrated in people over 80 years of age.

On Mondays, the bulletin discloses the number of cases per municipality, with Lisbon having the highest number of infections (9,202), followed by Sintra (7,454), Loures (4,641) and Amadora (3,722).

The municipality of Porto registers 3,508 infections by SARS-CoV-2, Vila Nova de Gaia 3,246, Cascais with 3,054, Odivelas 2,888, Oeiras 2,334, Matosinhos 2,426, Vila Franca de Xira 2,185, Guimarães 2,168 and Braga with 2,049.

In Almada, 1,928 cases were detected, in Paços de Ferreira 1,845, Seixal 1,782, Gondomar 1,740, Maia 1,648, Valongo 1,352, Lousada 1,253 and Walls 1,032

The remaining counties on the list of the report registered values ??below 1,000 cases.
