According to the DGS daily epidemiological bulletin, the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is now 1,646 and the total number of confirmed cases is 45,679.

In percentage terms, the increase in the number of deaths was 0.12% (from 1,644 to 1,646) and the increase in the number of infected was 0.88% (from 45,277 to 45,679).

The two deaths recorded in the last 24 hours were both in the central region, which has so far recorded 250 deaths.

DGS registers 16 fewer people hospitalized in the last 24 hours, now 471. In intensive care there are fewer seven people hospitalized, now 66.

Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, with 21,926 infections, remains the region with the highest number of new cases, 342 in the last 24 hours.

The bulletin reiterates that about 200 cases still remain to be included in the total in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Region, referring to tests carried out by a private laboratory that on three days last week did not register them in the system for this purpose, being its distribution still to be analyzed by the health authorities.

After Lisbon and the Tagus Valley comes the North Region (18,001 cases), the Central Region (4,254 cases), the Algarve (688 cases) and the Alentejo (562 cases). The Azores have 153 infected and Madeira 95.

There are 11 counties in the country with more than 1,000 cases of infected patients, a list led by Lisbon (3,645), followed by Sintra (2,850) and Loures (1,910).

The figures for the municipalities have not changed this week, a situation explained in today's bulletin that indicates that the update has not yet been made, because DGS is verifying "all data with local and regional health authorities" and hopes to have this task "completed in the next few days".

As for deaths, the region with the highest number remains the North (821, unchanged), followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (527, unchanged), the Center region (250, two more cases), Alentejo (18 , unchanged) and the Algarve and the Azores, with the same 15 deaths each also unchanged.

By age group, the highest number of deaths is concentrated in people over 80 years old (1,104, in the Thursday bulletin they were 1,102), followed by those between 70 and 79 years old (315) and between 60 and 69 years (148). There are 55 deaths between 50 and 59 years, 20 between 40 and 49, two between 30 and 39 and two between 20 and 29 years.

Health authorities keep 34,082 contacts of infected people under surveillance - 20 fewer than on Thursday - and there are 1,626 people awaiting laboratory results.

The number of patients reported as recovered also increased, with 301 people recovering today, with a total of 30,350 cases now in this situation.
