There are 12 new-born lynx kittens in the first three litters of Iberian Lynx born this year.

The latest litter was born in Vale do Guadiana Natural Park in the Alentejo, where the species is being reintroduced into the wild. The Portuguese Institute for Conservation says it hopes that five other females may also have mated successfully and that there may be as many as 20 Iberian Lynx kittens this year.
