The Valmor Prize of Architecture has been awarded to the architect Manuel Aires Mateus for the head office building of power company EDP

It has also been awarded and to architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça for Lisbon’s cruise ship terminal.

The EDP headquarters was designed as a "building that aimed to shape the city, that aimed to dialogue with the city", Aires Mateus told Lusa, adding that the award is an "important distinction".

The cruise ship terminal was designed by Carrilho da Graça “from the city and the people’s point of view", which was materialised in an urban wooded park aimed to be an "accessible public space".
