Eight districts of mainland Portugal and Madeira will be under yellow warning on Tuesday, 3 November, due to the strong maritime unrest, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon and Setúbal will be under yellow warning on 3 November until 6pm on 4 November due to the forecast of strong maritime unrest, with northwesterly waves measuring 4 to 4.5 metres.

The IPMA also placed the north coast of the island of Madeira and Porto Santo under yellow warning because of the sea unrest between 12:00 and 18:00 on 3 November.

The south of Madeira and the mountainous regions of the island will also be under yellow warning due to the forecast of precipitation, which can sometimes be strong, between 09:00 and 18:00 on Tuesday.

The mountainous regions of the island of Madeira are still under yellow warning due to the strong northeast wind, with wind up to 90 km per hour between 12:00 pm on Tuesday and 03:00 am on Wednesday.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there risk situations for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
