In the technical command of the Portuguese team, Fernando Santos won the UEFA League of Nations in 2019 and, despite the competition from Brazil's Tite and Spain's Roberto Martinez, coaches from Brazil and Belgium, respectively, on Tuesday he was the most voted by football experts and journalists from 90 countries from all continents in the world.

Fernando Santos received 112 points, 10 more than Tite, 15 more than Roberto Martinez and 25 more than last year's winner, Didier Deschamps of France.

With this distinction, Fernando Santos becomes, along with the German Joachim Low, the second coach in the prize ranking with two trophies, just behind the former Spanish coach, Vicente Del Bosque, who has won the prize four times since 1996.
