A source from the Portuguese company that provides the service in partnership with a Spanish company said the interruption is due to a decision by the Spanish vessel to stop operating due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, while at the same time the Portuguese ferry is in the shipyard for maintenance and renewal of an expired license. The service was previously suspended between March and July, when European borders were closed due to the first wave of Covid-19.
