Flight from Netherlands to Canary Islands forced to make unscheduled landing in Portugal due to drunken British passenger

A flight from the Netherlands to the Canary Islands was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Portugal after a drunken British passenger began hurling abuse at cabin crew.

According to reports the pilot appealed to any ‘firefighters, police and soldiers’ among passengers to come forward and help his crew restrain the man. The Tenerife-bound Transavia flight was forced to divert to Faro due to the unruly passenger’s threatening behaviour, causing a 2-hour delay.
