Fuel truck bosses, union agree to complete negotiations by year's end

The Portuguese road hauliers’ association, ANTRAM, and National Union of Drivers of Hazardous Material, SNMMP, in the protocol signed on Thursday that ends a strike that began on Monday, have undertaken to complete until 31 December a collective bargaining process.

According to the document, this process aims to “promote and dignify the activity of hazardous goods truck drivers” and will be accompanied by the government.

The document also said that the parties “agree to start a negotiating procedure aimed at the good regulation of labour relations between employers represented by ANTRAM and the workers represented by SNMMP.”

In order to ensure the start of the negotiations, the union ends “immediately the general strike of drivers currently underway, which began on 15 April.”
