This cake will be 150 metres long and will contain 110kg of flour, 22kg of sugar, 1.6kg of salt, 22kg of eggs (38 dozen), 14kg of margarine, 50kg of chopped candied fruit, 100kg of candied fruit for decoration, 50kg of dried fruit (sultanas, almonds, figs and walnuts), 2kg of drinks flavouring and 1.6kg of yeast.
The initiative will feature two musical moments that also fit the tradition of the Kings: the performance of the Charola das Barreiras Brancas - AGAL and the Charola of the Tavira Musical Band.
The Giant King Cake is intended to be a form of commemoration of the Day of Kings which, according to Christian tradition, was one in which the newborn Jesus Christ received the visit of the three wise men.
