GNR accompany first fuel trucks

GNR police escorted the first fuel trucks out of Aveiras de Cima this morning past the picket lines with police reporting that “everything ran smoothly”.

According to a report by Lusa News Agency, the first five trucks leaving the CLC depot were on their way to Lisbon to supply the airport.

“GNR escorted the drivers and everything ran smoothly,” said the police source.

More than one hundred drivers have been on the picket line since last night when the strike officially began at midnight on Sunday.

The spokesman for the drivers union, Pardal Henriques, has accused Antram of “bribing” drivers to not go on strike and stated that the union would be gathering evidence on this.
