Government says it has met 81% of pledges

The Portuguese government considers that three months before the end of the legislature, it has managed to fulfill 81% of the measures listed in its programme and contends that it will do another 10%.

This activity was described in a note disclosed by the secretary of state for parliamentary affairs on www.prestarcontas.gov.pt.

"An exercise in transparency that aims to show the results of all the areas of governance, allowing citizens to evaluate the work done over the last four years”, he said.

In relation to the content of the site, the Government highlights the chapters about "People" and "Enhance our territory", pointing out that these areas have implementation rates in the order of 90%.

Above average in terms of compliance, according to the government, are also the chapters "Turning the page of austerity" with 85%, "Convergence with Europe" and "More cohesion, less inequality," both with 82% of the measures having been met.
