Greek minimum wage would destroy jobs in Portugal

Portuguese bosses unions have this morning said they would be unable to support an increase in the minimum wage similar to that which has just been announced in Greece.

New Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said yesterday that he will pushing up the debt-ridden country’s minimum wage to 751 euros, which is an increase of 28 percent and substantially higher than the benchmark 505 euros paid in Portugal.

Bosses union chief António Saraiva explained such an increase would have a reverse effect in Portugal, and would see companies having to dismiss some of their workers in order to support these wages.

If the tax office would stop persecuting businesses and fining them left right and centre until they give up and sack everyone, then maybe there would be some funds in the companies to increase minimum wages. The tax office has gone totally over the top in grabbing money wherever they can find it, who can afford to stay in business let alone pay higher wages.

I never understood Bar/Restaurants or any other businesses used by Tourests that charge inflated London prices and the owners pay close to the minimum wage of Portugal.
505 euros per month minimum wage is disgusting.One of the problems with the employment laws is `Contract value`then when the worker is laid off their pay off is based on a much smaller value.
Portugal is in the EU but some foreign product are still priced as if massive import tax`x still exist when being in the EU gives freedom to trade.

People ahead of the markets.
The suffering of the people is something that does not sensitize the Government of Portugal. In fact the Government of Portugal only has two objectives: to maintain power at any cost and annihilate all who meddle in the way.

Does anyone know the destruction that the Government of Portugal did to our country? And about people's suffering? In Portugal there is hunger, cold, disease and misery aplenty like in 50's.
