Guarda, Beja and Évora at extreme risk of exposure to UV rays

The districts of Guarda, Évora and Beja on 19 June have an extreme risk of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation and the rest of the country is at very high levels, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

For these districts with extreme risk, the IPMA recommends avoiding exposure to the sun as much as possible.

According to the IPMA, the other districts of mainland Portugal (15) and the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores present a very high risk of exposure to UV radiation.

For regions with very high and high risk, the IPMA recommends the use of sunglasses with UV filter, hat, 't-shirt', parasol, sunscreen and avoiding children's exposure to the sun.

The calculation is based on the values ??observed at 1pm of each day regarding the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
