"We consider this an act of regrettable vandalism. The company became aware of the situation when an employee arrived at the headquarters and it has already filed a complaint with the National Republican Guard (GNR)," the source said.

According to the same source of Lusorecursos Portugal Lithium, S.A., which is based in the Montalegretown hall, a swastika was drawn on the company's name plate.

The company, which signed in March the concession contract with the state for the lithium mine in Morgade, announced a business plan of €500 million, the creation of around 500 jobs and the start of an industrial unit.

Several popular movements and associations have been created and carried out various protest actions in the fight against lithium exploitation, both in the region and elsewhere in the country.
