Illegal party in Algarve closes 24 homes to visitors

24 old age peoples’ and children’s homes in the Algarve have been closed to visitors following an illegal party in Lagos, which has resulted in about 40 positive cases of coronavirus confirmed until yesterday afternoon.

Visits are prohibited in Misericórdia homes in Lagos, Vila do Bispo, Portimão, Alvor, Aljezur, Estômbar, Monchique, Silves, Alcantarilha, Armação de Pera and Albufeira, following the Covid-19 outbreak originating from a party held on June 7, in Odiaxere, and which was reportedly attended by some family members and employees of the homes.

They should go out with the names of those who attended the party and charge them with reckless behaviour. People might die as a result of their refusal to follow the law.

I'm staggered that people could be so stupid and so un-Portuguese. We've been following the rules here in Lagos and cv19 has almost disappeared, that until Friday. Prison for the organisers is essential
