The Municipality of Cascais, in the district of Lisbon, will support local tourism with the “exemption or suspension of fees” in the sector and will also carry out tests for Covid-19 for hotel and accommodation employees.

In a statement the municipality revealed that it will take on a series of initiatives to support tourism, due to the pandemic.

Among other measures, the municipality of Cascais will also provide free transportation for tourists staying at the local hotel units.

The cooperation protocol to support tourism aims to “study and implement measures aimed at promoting tourism and measures that stimulate economic activity in general and tourism activity in particular”.

The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Cascais, the Portuguese Hotel Association, the Cascais Tourism Association, Cascais Invest and the Cascais Business Association.
