John Legend performs on 3 July at the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome, one of the venues in Cascais that will host the EDP CoolJazz festival shows, according to promoter Live Experiences.

Recently considered the "sexiest man alive" in the annual poll of American magazine People, the singer, musician, songwriter, producer and actor edited the debut album "Get Lifted" in 2003.

This was followed by “Where Again” (2006), “Evolver” (2008), “Wake Up” with The Roots (2010), “Love in the future” (2013) and “Darkness and light” (2016).

After that, among other stages of his career, he was co-producer and author of the movie “La La Land”, winner of seven Golden Globes and six Academy Oscars.

Over the course of his career, John Legend has racked up “a total of 33 awards and 88 nominations,” including Emmy, Grammy, an Oscar (in the category of “Glory” Best Music in the movie “Selma”, which he shares with 'rapper' Common) and a Tony, recalls Live Experiences.

John Legend debuted live in Portugal in 2013 at CoolJazz, at a time when the festival was taking place in Oeiras. After that, he performed twice more in Portugal: in 2015, at the Marés Vivas festival in Vila Nova de Gaia, and in 2017 at the Altice Arena in Lisbon.

For the 17th edition of the CoolJazz festival had already been announced the concert of Lionel Richie, on 25 July, also at the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome.
