The council have purchased a “Beach Tech 200” and a “CFC Speed Tapiro” to tackle rubbish and dirt on the beaches. The first machine is designed to be towed to clean large areas of beach, while the second is smaller and is to be used to clean less accessible areas.

It is hoped that the new machines will cut down on the time and expense involved in keeping the beaches clean.

"This initiative follows our permanent concern for the environmental preservation of our beaches and the natural heritage of our county, which attract thousands of tourists," said the municipal officials.
