According to Rock in Rio, Liam Gallagher's concert will take place on the World Stage and will feature mostly songs from the musician's latest solo album, "Why me? Why not?”, released last year.

The former Oasis singer joins the already announced Foo Fighters and The National, who perform at the festival on the same day.

"Gallagher is considered one of the most important elements of Britpop - the musical and cultural movement of the 1990s," writes the Rock in Rio organisers in a statement, recalling that even after leaving Oasis, which he led for 18 years with brother Noel, "continued a long and successful musical path in the Beady Eye," which he founded with some of the elements of the former band.

In March 2010, Liam Gallagher was named "the best singer ever by the readers of the British magazine 'Q'", recalls Rock in Rio.

The solo tour started just over two years ago with the album "As You Were" (2017).

Like this first solo album, "Why me? Why not?" topped the British chart in 2019.

Rock in Rio Lisboa will return to the Bela Vista Park in Lisbon on 20, 21, 27 and 28 June.

For this year's edition the festival organization had already announced the performances of Post Malone, Foo Fighters, The National, Camila Cabello and Black Eyed Peas.
