In a statement, NAV said that the project for the reorganisation of the Lisbon Terminal Area airspace was approved on 23 October by INFANAV, a permanent commission of air navigation that includes ANAC - National Civil Aviation Authority, the Portuguese Air Force and NAV Portugal.

This project "provides for the reorganisation and conciliation of the civil and military use of airspace in the Lisbon region and its approval means that the conditions are met to gradually increase the airport’s capacity to 72 movements an hour," it said.
