The fair is open until 13 June and has 294 pavilions with 626 publishers/publishing brands over an area of 23,000 square metres, the general secretary of the Portuguese Publishers’ Association (APEL), Bruno Pacheco, said.

Another novelty this year is more shade in all the rest areas such as the squares, food zones and beside the esplanades.

The book fair site, which had 150,000 visitors a day last year, will continue to provide information about each day’s programme.
