Lisbon Council reinforces emergency fund

The Lisbon City Council will strengthen the social emergency fund aimed at families and create a support line for all goods, services and equipment needed by institutions, worth €25 million.

This support was announced on 25 March by the mayor, Fernando Medina (PS), and is part of a set of additional measures to support the income of families and companies, approved on Tuesday by the municipal executive to deal with the pandemic of Covid -19.

“We will reinforce the social emergency fund aimed at families and social institutions”, explained the mayor, adding that “a specific line of support will also be created for all goods, services and equipment that become necessary in this emergency situation for the different city institutions”, worth €25 million.
