According to Maria João Rosado, the body of the 50-year-old man was removed from the flooded quarry by divers from the Special Civil Protection Force and GNR.
The body will be transported to the Coroner’s service in Évora.
The man was driving a machine that was unloading rocks when it fell into the quarry on Saturday morning.
