Man dies a week after crash in race track car park

A security guard has died in Portimão Hospital a week after being involved in an accident at the Algarve International Race Track in Mexilhoeira Grande, Portimão.

Forty-year-old Nelson Guerreiro died following an accident that happened in the Race Track’s car park on the weekend of the Superbike World Championship, from 15 to 17 September, according to newspaper Correio da Manhã.
He was seriously injured after a collision between a scooter he was riding and a car in the car park, and died after a week of fighting for his life in Portimão Hospital.

According to the newspaper, Guerreiro hit his head violently on the ground, resulting in serious injuries. He was assisted by INEM emergency medics and rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries over a week later.
