The rescue teams received the alert for “being hit by the train” at 11:07am, when the man, around 30 years old, “was walking” on the Algarve railway line.

The accident caused an interruption of circulation between Faro and Tunes for more than an hour.

“Circulation resumed at 12:29pm”, the source of the CDOS told Lusa.

Assisting on site were 19 operational, with nine vehicles, including elements from the Albufeira Fire Department, GNR, National Institute of Medical Emergency and Infrastructure in Portugal, the company responsible for managing the railway line, the source of the Faro CDOS also said.
