The incident caused the interruption of the Algarve Line between Portimão and Lagos.
The alarm was raised at around 3.40pm, with several vehicles belonging to fire-fighters, INEM emergency medics and GNR police rushing to the scene. Newspaper Sul Informação, citing a GNR source, said the incident may have been a suicide.
