Marines deployed to monitor fires in Lisbon and Setubal

Marines have been deployed to bolster efforts in monitoring.

The Navy said two marine patrols were deployed this Sunday for surveillance and ground patrol against possible fires in the districts of Lisbon and Setúbal, and will remain in place until tomorrow.

The Met Office issued a yellow hot weather warning for the districts of Leiria, Lisbon and Setúbal, where temperatures today are forecast to reach 36 degrees, with four counties in the Algarve - Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira and Alcoutim – being placed on maximum fire risk.
