More buses for the summer

Rede Expressos bus company has increased its schedule and added new routes, for the summer period, with the aim of greater internal mobility and to help support national tourism.

“We intend to expand our daily service offer, both in terms of network coverage and also timetables, reinforcing the offer that had already been made available to customers in June, in order to give mobility to our customers during this holiday period, ” said a statement from the company.

In June, Rede Expressos restored more than 80 daily long-distance bus connections between different parts of the country.

New connections between Porto and the entire Algarve region will also be available - until mid-September, and there will also be greater coverage of the west coast and new routes between the district capitals.

Rede Expressos indicated that it has re-introduced tickets from €6 for the Lisbon Oriente - Porto route and recalled that all prices charged by the company include 25 kilograms (kg) of free luggage, a marked place, Wi-Fi and the possibility of cancellations and re-bookings.

“We want our passengers to travel safely with us and in a comfortable way with Wi-Fi onboard, electrical plugs, geolocation services and certified and qualified drivers”, underlined Carlos Oliveira.

Due to the pandemic, Rede Expressos has implemented hygiene rules for vehicles inside, as well as the maximum capacity of two-thirds of capacity and the mandatory use of a mask at the terminals and during trips.
