In a statement, the GNR said 103 people were detained over the weekend, including 49 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 23 for driving without a legal license, nine for drug trafficking, three for domestic violence and one for attempted murder.

During the operations, 12,758 doses of hashish, 29 doses of cocaine, 18 tabs of LSD and ten doses of cannabis were seized.

GNR also carried out road enforcement operations over the weekend, detecting 1,269 offenses, of which 544 were for speeding and 118 for driving with a higher blood alcohol rate than permitted by law, 76 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection and 58 for anomalies in lighting and signalling systems.

Of the more than 1,000 detected violations, 52 were due to the lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint, 41 were related to tachographs, 34 due to lack of liability insurance and 18 due to misuse of a mobile phone while driving.
