More than 40 municipalities in seven mainland districts are today at a maximum risk of wildfires, according to the Portuguese Met Office (IPMA).

These are Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Portalegre, Santarém and Faro. Many municipalities are also at very high risk, due to the persistent hot weather. Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Sadly due to the Climate Crisis this is the new normal!
