MotoGP announced on Monday the coronavirus-hit season will end with the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimão on the weekend of November 20-22.

The championship has been rescheduled and postponed to include only European races due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The event will give Miguel Oliveira, who is 12th in the standings ahead of this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix, the chance to race on home soil. The announcement follows news that Portimão will be hosting a Formula One Grand Prix race in October.

Tickets for the MotoGP World Championship to be held at the Algarve International Racetrack in November are now on sale. Yesterday a first batch of 5,000 tickets was released, following announcements by Paulo Pinheiro, CEO of Parkalgar, and by the president of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), Jorge Viegas. Regarding Formula 1, 28,000 of the estimated 30,000 tickets have already been sold.
