Nearly 1,000 counterfeit articles seized in Elvas

Nearly a thousand counterfeit items valued at 19,195 Euros were seized at the São Mateus Fair in Elvas, Portalegre district, by PSP and the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE).

In a statement, the PSP Portalegre District Command specifies that 442 garments worth 6,625 Euros, 244 pairs of sneakers valued at 5,915 Euros, 155 suitcases valued at 6,610 Euros and 45 plates valued at 45 Euros, were seized.

In the same joint police operation, eight criminal cases were also prepared for sale or concealment of counterfeit article.

Still in the city of Elvas, PSP detained two men, 17 and 46 years old, in the act, for theft in a commercial establishment.

Both men were constituted defendants and were subject to an identity and residence term and were notified to appear at the Local Elvas Court of the Portalegre District Court.
