The law was passed on 3 September last year and also applies to establishments that fail to provide patrons with ashtrays. It will be implemented from 3 September.

I feel the same way as mr john,as I’ve seen this happen lots of times ,people in cars throwing there cigarettes butts out of the car window ,while still moving ,not bothering where it goes it’s not right they could be the fire starters for all we know ,and even people working outside who smoke are not putting there butts out I’ve seen them throw them anywhere with no concern if it might start a fire I’ve had some butts outside my house on the road and even on the grass ,this needs to be sorted ,stop smoking outside would be a start.k.jefcoate

RIDICULOUS soon smoking will be be outlawed. €100,000,000 for a singular cigarette and any one caught smoking it will be beheaded on the spot. I say down with smoker discrimination !
