Prime Minister, António Costa, has announced the closing of nightclubs, the reduction of the maximum capacity of restaurants, the limitation of the number of people in shopping centres and public services and the ban on disembarking from cruise passengers.

These are some of the measures that the Council of Ministers have approved due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We will determine the closure of discos and similar establishments, reduce the maximum capacity of each restaurant establishment by one third in order to increase the spacing between different customers, we will determine the frequency limitation of shopping centers or public services in a way that their frequency fits the space of each one without there being an excess of people simultaneously within the same space ", he listed.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government will also "determine the ban on disembarking passengers from cruise ships, who may continue to contribute for the purpose of refuelling, with the exception of residents in Portugal".

"As already determined in relation to the northern region, the limitation of visits to nursing homes will be extended to the whole country," he also announced.
