The Prime Minister, António Costa, has said that without housing policies aimed at the middle-class, there can be no social cohesion. The head of the legislative branch made the remarks during a speech at an old vacant Hospital in Lisbon, which will be converted into affordable housing.

The PM concluded by saying that ‘there is no European country, no European city, with an ounce of social cohesion that is not developing public policies to guarantee affordable housing to the middle class’.
