Number of emigrants returning to Portugal with state aid doubles

The number of emigrants seeking state aid to return to Portugal has doubled. The Portuguese state spent 69,688 euros on repatriations in the first half of this year.

According to official data, in the first half of this year, 118 repatriation requests were made, of which 83 required "funds provided by the Portuguese State". In the same period of 2019, only 33 repatriations were made.

Funny how some are helped and others totally ignored ,even after recent visit to consulate,im stuck in za with my mom of almost 93 and need some form of assistance as I can't find a short route to Pt because of long layovers and no flights direct to Pt my mom is unable to walk and is in a wheelchair and due to illness and now the Covid,we are now stuck in SA for 2years ,my moms pension in Pt has also stopped but we have to be there to really, wonder what's going to happen next,we are seemingly invisible even though I'm not waiting for a handout like others I need logistical help from my government,but to no avail.
