One in three autopsied drivers in Portugal last year had blood alcohol rates above the legal limit, while one in eight had taken drugs before driving.

In percentage terms, 37 percent of all fatalities on Portuguese roads were intoxicated drivers, a figure almost eight percent higher than the total recorded in 2018.
